ingredients

1 pound ground beef
3/4 cup chopped onion
18 ounces barbecue sauce
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 cups baking mix, jiffy or bisquick
1 cup milk
2 eggs

directions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and onion and cook, stirring frequently, until the beef is no longer pink. Drain off any excess grease.

Stir in the barbecue sauce and mix well.

Transfer the mixture to a 9x13-inch baking dish. Evenly sprinkle the cheese over the top.

In a bowl, whisk together the baking mix, milk, and eggs until well blended. Pour over the beef mixture.

Place the baking dish in the oven and bake at 400 degrees F for 25 minutes or until the crust is lightly browned.

Remove the barbecue beef bake from the oven and let stand for 5 minutes before serving.

  1. The not so gourmet chef REVIEW:

This recipe is so great when you need something new for ground beef. It is so easy to prepare and really inexpensive. I've made it several times when I am tired and out of ideas! Add a side salad and family dinner is done!
