It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).

With a savory mix of ground beef, sausage, beans, and a touch of sweetness from brown sugar, this meal is a filling, tasty tribute to the Wild West, perfect for any hearty dinner at home.

1 pound ground beef
1 pound sausage links, cut up
3 cloves garlic, chopped
6 slices bacon, coarsely chopped
1 onion, chopped
2 cans (16 ounce size) baked beans
2 cans (16 ounce size) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 can (15 ounce size) diced tomatoes, undrained
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons chili powder
Place the ground beef, sausage, bacon, and onion in a large pan or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Cook, stirring frequently, until the beef is no longer pink and most of the fat has been rendered from the bacon. Drain off any excess grease.
Add the garlic, baked beans, kidney beans, tomatoes, brown sugar, and chili powder to the pan. Cook, stirring frequently, for 10-15 minutes or until heated through.
Serve the cowboy dinner hot.
