What's the secret ingredient in these cakes? Pudding mix. It not only adds flavor but it gives the cake a richer, creamier texture. No one will know your secret ingredient!

A savory beef and bean casserole that is topped with biscuits for a hearty meal.
1 pound ground beef
1 can (16 ounce size) pork and beans
1/2 cup barbecue sauce
1 can (12 ounce size) refrigerated biscuit dough
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef until no longer pink. Drain off any fat.
Stir in the pork and beans and barbecue sauce. Cook until bubbly.
Place the beef and bean mixture in a 2 1/2 quart casserole dish (rectangular shape works best).
Unwrap the refrigerated biscuit dough and separate into individual biscuits. Place the biscuits on top of the beef mixture in a single layer covering as much of the casserole as possible.
Bake the casserole at 350 degrees F until the biscuits are just starting to turn golden brown and the meat and bean mixture is starting to bubble (about 15 minutes). Remove the casserole from the oven.
Top the biscuits with the shredded cheese and return to the oven for another 5-10 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).

Added some canned corn to the beans and cooked some diced onions with the beef. Used a good smoky bbq sauce and this was super flavorful and easy.

This recipe was so easy and good my boyfriend loved it the only thing is that next time I make it ill use bigger biscuit
The flavor combinations were there, HOWEVER, the dough sitting on TOP of all the already cooked ingredients makes it awfully hard to get the center cooked. Even if the tops are browned..the cheese is melted..the inside is raw dough. I cooked mine for an additional 20 mins and still.. we cut into raw dough. It has to be cooked separately!!
I think the shape of the baking dish might be the key to those who have had success with this recipe vs those who haven't. If you're using a square dish then the center biscuit might not get done but if you use a rectangular or oblong casserole dish I think that might work better.

Really simple and easy to do if you are tired. In fact that's why I tried it out tonight. Nothing gourmet about it. It doesn't have a mind blowing taste, but is very good (husband is undecided). Sort of along the lines of a rating equal to sloppy joes or other "slop" recipes.

Nice recipe for a quick weekday meal. I used a can baked beans instead of pork and beans and left out the bbq sauce and it still was a hit.
I am going to try this recipe using cornbread mix.....bet it will be yummy!
This recipe wasnt very good. The biscuits would not get done no matter how long i cooked it and just the overall mix of ingredients did not taste well together. Sounded good though.
That doesn't make sense - how the biscuits wouldn't brown no matter how long you cooked it? They would have to at some point.
