The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

1/2 cup chopped bacon
1 onion, chopped
1 pound potatoes, boiled peeled and cut in 1 inch cubes
4 hard boiled eggs chopped
1/2 cup cubed Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 teaspoons prepared mustard
salt and pepper
directions
Cook bacon until crisp. Combine all ingredients. Mix together well. Cover and chill for up to 24 hours.
