Molasses Apple Crisp

ingredients
6 cups sliced, tart cooking apples
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
5 tablespoons molasses
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
3/4 cup sifted flour
directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease a 6 x 10 x 2 inch baking dish.
Pare and core apples. Slice about 1/8 inch thick.
Mix together 1/4 cup sugar, nutmeg, salt, and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Alternate apples and sugar mixture in prepared baking dish. Spoon 4 Tablespoons molasses over top.
Mix together remaining 1/4 cup sugar, 1 Tablespoon molasses, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, butter or margarine, and flour to a crumb consistency. Sprinkle evenly over apples.
Bake uncovered for 50 minutes or until apples are done.
