The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

ingredients
1 cup light apple juice
1 cup frozen strawberries (unsweetened)
2 teaspoons lime juice
1/2 teaspoon rum extract (optional)
sugar, as needed for glass rims
directions
Prepare glasses by dampening rims of glasses with water, then dipping them in bowl of sugar to create sugared rim.
Place remaining ingredients in blender. Blend until smooth. Pour into prepared glasses and serve at once.
