Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

- #55596
under 30 minutes
ingredients
6 cinnamon sticks
1 cup dried whole hibiscus flowers (see note)
16 cups water
2 cups honey at room temperature
1 cup fresh lemon juice
directions
Using a medium sauce pan, simmer cinnamon in 4 cups water for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat, add hibiscus and lemon juice.
If making in advance, this concentrate can be refrigerated or frozen.
To serve, add remaining water and serve over ice. Garnish with fresh strawberry, slice of lemon or slice of peach.
NOTE: You can purchase hibiscus flowers from your local grocery store and these are best as they have not been contaminated by any spray. Be careful.
