The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

Eggnog and oreos blended with whipped topping makes a heavenly holiday treat.

ingredients
1 quart prepared eggnog
18 Oreo chocolate sandwich cookies, divided
1 cup thawed frozen whipped topping
directions
Combine the eggnog, 10 of the cookies, and the whipped topping in a blender. Cover and process until smooth.
Pour into tall glasses. Serve each with one of the reserved cookies (you can leave them whole or crush them if desired).
