Lemon Brownies

brownies

1 box (18.25 ounce size) lemon supreme cake mix
1/2 cup oil
3 eggs
1 small box lemon gelatin powder

topping

1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup lemon juice

directions

Mix all brownie ingredients together well. Bake in 9x13-inch pan for 25-30 minutes at 325 degrees F.

Remove from oven; while still hot punch holes in top of cake with the small end of a wooden spoon.

Combine topping ingredients well and pour over top of brownies. Cool and cut in squares; powdered sugar may be sprinkled over brownies.

    These lemon "brownies" are super-simple to make. Flavor is tangy and the texture is nice. I used some fresh lemon zest and used the juice from one lemon, adding bottled lemon juice to make up the one-half cup. This seemed to add a nice freshness.
