tools needed
Crockpot: For cooking the Turkey Shepherd's Pie in layers.
Measuring Cups: For measuring out the cubed cooked turkey, gravy, carrots, stuffing, and mashed potatoes.
Can Opener: For opening the can of whole kernel corn if it does not have a pop-top.
Spatula or Large Spoon: For gently layering the different components without mixing them.
Cooking Spray or Butter: For greasing the inside of the crockpot to prevent the ingredients from sticking.
what goes with it?
Gravy: Add an extra drizzle of warm turkey gravy when serving for added richness.
Fresh Herbs: Sprinkle fresh thyme or parsley on top before serving. This adds a fresh note that contrasts nicely with the hearty filling and gives a pop of color.
Green Salad: A simple mixed greens salad with a light vinaigrette pairs well. The crispness of the greens offers a refreshing contrast to the warm, comforting texture of the shepherd's pie.
Cranberry Sauce: A dollop of cranberry sauce alongside can brighten the dish. The sweet-tart flavor complements the savory flavors.
Stuffed Bell Peppers: Use leftover turkey shepherd's pie filling to stuff bell peppers. This makes for a visually appealing and easy-to-eat dish that highlights the flavors in a different way.
Biscuits: Serve with soda biscuits on the side. These can be used to scoop up the pie and offer a contrasting texture to the creamy filling.

This is the first recipe we make after Thanksgiving when we have leftovers. It's great because you can use up so many of the leftovers in one dish - and it tastes really good!
