Orange Pineapple Upside-Down Salad

ingredients
6 slices pineapple
3/4 cup pineapple syrup or juice
3/4 cup water
1 package (3 ounce size) orange gelatin powder
6 maraschino cherries
1 cup cottage cheese
directions
Drain pineapple. Reserve syrup. Combine syrup and water. Bring to boil. Pour over gelatin until dissolved.
Arrange pineapple and cherries in 9-inch cake pan. Pour half of gelatin over pineapple and cherries. Chill until set.
Leave other half of gelatin at room temperature. Combine with cottage cheese. Pour over first gelatin mix. Chill until firm.
Place pan in warm water until sides loosen up. Invert on plate.
