Basic Slow Cooker Turkey Chili

ingredients
2 pounds ground turkey
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon ground oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon ground cumin
2 bay leaves
1 tablespoon paprika
1 onion, chopped
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup dry red wine
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (8 oz size) tomato sauce
1 bottle (8 oz size) ketchup
salt, to taste
Toppings
chopped onion
grated Cheddar cheese
directions
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground turkey and cook, stirring, until browned. Add the turkey to the crock pot.
Add the remaining ingredients, except the toppings, to the crock pot and stir well.
Cover the crock pot and cook on low heat for 4-6 hours or until heated through. Remove the bay leaf.
Serve individual portions with the toppings.

This was really tasty! We were a little concerned that the ketchup might throw the flavor off, but with the combination of other ingredients it wasn't detectable. This recipe is a keeper!
The seasoning of this Chili was quite good. It is extremely dry. I am quite sure that I did follow the directions correctly.
For a crockpot recipe, this has plenty of liquid. Make sure your lid fits snuggly so the steam created inside doesn't leak out (that's the number one reason for crockpot recipes turning out dry)
