Coconut-Corn Flake Squares

ingredients
1/2 cup butter, cut up
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup corn flakes
1 1/2 cup shredded coconut
1/3 cup confectioners' sugar
directions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Set out a 9 inch square baking pan.
Melt the butter with the sugar in a medium saucepan over low heat. Stir in the flour, corn flakes, and 1 cup coconut until well coated.
Firmly press the mixture into the pan. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until just golden. Dust with the confectioners' sugar and the remaining 1/2 cup coconut.
Cool completely before cutting into squares.

I had to make these for a class potluck, so I made two batches. After the first one didn't turn out, I made double sure on the measurements. The second one still didn't stay together. The butter and sugar is too low in ratio to other ingredients.
