Hard to beat the convenience of the crock pot for cooking up a whole batch of hot dogs, especially in the winter when grilling outside is the furthest thing from your mind. A bit of brown sugar in the sauce really gets the sweet and savory combo going.

5 pounds hot dogs
1 bottle (32 ounce size) ketchup
1/4 pound brown sugar
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 1/2 tablespoon white vinegar
Add the hot dogs to the crock pot.
In a bowl, mix the ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, and vinegar until blended. Pour over the hot dogs and stir gently to coat the hot dogs in the sauce.
Cover the crock pot and cook on high heat for 2 hours (or low for 4 hours) or until heated through.
Serve the sweet and tangy hot dogs covered with sauce on buns.

Changed the serving sizes a bit so this was for 2 pounds of hot dogs instead of 5. Wasn't sure how big a package of brown sugar was but I know a lot of recipes used to just say 1 box = 1 pound so I went off that. We let everyone use tongs to grab a hot dog and put on the bun so it was easy serving.
