The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

Bratwurst simmered in a mixture of beer, onions, and caraway seeds before being grilled. The onions are then cooked down until they are caramelized and served with the brats.

1 package (20 ounce size) fresh bratwurst links
2 large onions, sliced thinly
1 teaspoon caraway seeds
3 bottles (12 ounce size) beer
2 tablespoons olive oil
5 buns or rolls
mustard, to taste
Preheat the grill to medium heat.
Add the bratwurst, onions, caraway seeds, and beer to a skillet over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil. Cover the pan and reduce the heat to a simmer. Cook for 15 minutes.
Remove the bratwurst with tongs and place on a plate. Drain the beer from the onions. Add the olive oil to the skillet and cook over medium-low heat, stirring frequently, until the onions are caramelized (about 20 minutes).
Meanwhile, place the bratwurst on the grill and cook, turning as needed, until browned on all sides, about 10 minutes.
Spread mustard on the cut sides of the buns. Place the cooked bratwurst and caramelized onions on the buns along with any other desired toppings or condiments.
Served hot.

As a Wisconsin born boy, I know my brats. These were the best I've ever had. The glazed onions really put it over the top!
