1 pound uncooked bratwurst links
1 medium onion, chopped
1 can (10 3/4 ounce size) cream of mushroom soup
1 package (32 ounce size) frozen Tater Tots
2 cups sour cream
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9x13 baking dish.
Remove the casings from the bratwurst. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the bratwurst and onion. Cook, stirring frequently, until the bratwurst is browned. Drain off any excess grease.
Stir the cream of mushroom soup into the bratwurst. Mix well then transfer the mixture to the greased baking dish.
Place the tater tots in an even layer over the brat mixture. Spread the sour cream evenly over the top. Sprinkle with the cheese.
Place the baking dish in the oven and bake at 350 degrees F for 30-40 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the tater tots are heated through.
Let the casserole stand for 5 minutes, then serve.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
This iconic whiskey is a "Jack of all trades" when it comes to cooking. Toss it in some pasta, as a savory dipping sauce, and even bake it into something sweet.

The only change I made to the original recipe was I used 20 oz. of brats instead of a pound. Everything else was strictly according to the recipe and it turned out great. Even my finnicky wife said it was delicious and recommended I make it for the grand kids next time we're there. I'll be making this again soon.

Wonderful alternative to griling brats or using beer. My family raved about this the first time I made it and I can't wait to make it again! For me, using the fresh brats was so easy to remove from the casing. Great recipe!!

This is a fantastic recipe. I have made it with fresh bratwurst and pre-packaged, but prefer to substitute the fresh bratwurst for pre-packaged smoked bratwurst. I chop up the bratwurst in my food processor.
