ingredients
1 cup frozen peas and carrots, thawed 1/2 cup chopped celery 1/4 cup bread crumbs 1/4 cup chopped onions 1/2 cup mayonnaise 1 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese 1 dash black pepper 1 can (9 ounce size) solid albacore tuna, drained and lightly flaked 1 package pie dough (single-crust size)
directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a glass pie plate.
Combine the vegetables, celery, bread crumbs, onion, mayonnaise, cheese, and black pepper in a bowl until well mixed. Stir in the tuna until just mixed in. Transfer the tuna mixture to the pie plate.
Place the pie dough over the top of the tuna filling so it covers the pot pie completely. Crimp the edges to the plate to seal. Cut several slits in the crust.
Place the pie plate on a rimmed baking sheet and place in the oven. Bake at 350 degrees F for 35-45 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
Remove from the oven and let stand for 5 minutes then serve.
Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
What's the secret ingredient in these cakes? Pudding mix. It not only adds flavor but it gives the cake a richer, creamier texture. No one will know your secret ingredient!
