Everything a good casserole should be: creamy, comforting, and (most importantly) low-effort. A chopped up onion, a couple cans opened, a stir here and there, voila. Dinner's on the table, just like that.

ingredients

2 3/4 cups dry egg noodles
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1 can (15 ounce size) peas, undrained
1 can (10.75 ounce size) cream of mushroom soup
5 ounces water
1 can (12 ounce size) solid albacore tuna packed in water, drained

directions

Combine all the ingredients except the tuna in the crock pot. Stir to combine. Add the tuna and stir gently so the mixture is combined but the tuna isn't broken up too much.

Cover the crock pot and cook on high heat for 2 hours. Stir after one hour and again before serving.

Serve the tuna noodle casserole hot.

crock pot notes

    Do you drain the Tuna?

    • Unless a recipe specifically says not to drain it, you can safely always assume you drain the tuna

Easy to make although I stopped cooking after 3.5 hours on low because it was looking very dry by that point. Tastes great. I added a can of french fried onions to the top.

  3. Guest Foodie REVIEW:

If you are allergic to, or just don't like, mushrooms, try it with cream of broccoli soup instead.

  4. kari REVIEW:

i just made this recipe today. it was good except it was a little dry. i added to whole soup can full of water and it still was a dry so can i reccomend adding more water or some type of liquid so that it wont be so dry. that is what i will do next time i make it because it was still a great dish.

    • Make sure your crock pot lid fits snuggly. You shouldn't need extra water unless your crock pot is losing steam during the cooking process.
