There's something about turtle brownies that make them irresistible. Perhaps it's the rich chocolate flavor, or the gooeyness of the caramel and pecans. These brownies are sure to please any sweet tooth.

1 package (16-18 ounce size) brownie mix, plus ingredients to prepare
1 cup caramel sauce
1 cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F for shiny metal or glass pan, or 325 degrees F for nonstick pan. Grease the bottom only of a 9x13 pan.
Prepare brownie batter according to directions on box. Spread half the batter in the prepared pan.
Drizzle a layer of caramel over the first layer of brownie, reserving some of the sauce for the top of the brownies.
Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the caramel.
Top the pecans with the remaining brownie batter, evenly spreading it to cover the entire bottom layer.
Place the brownies in the oven and bake at 350 degrees (or 325 is using nonstick) for 25-30 minutes (or time listed on brownie package) until just done. Remove from the oven and let cool. Drizzle the cooled brownies with the remaining caramel sauce then cut into squares.
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. These also freeze well.
