These slow cooked buffalo wings have a Cajun kick to them. The wings are simmered in a spicy bbq sauce along with hot sauces like Tabasco and jalapeno sauce. The Cajun seasoning adds extra heat and flavor.

2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons black pepper
1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
1 teaspoon minced onion flakes
1 bottle (18 ounce size) spicy barbecue sauce
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons jalapeno sauce
1 tablespoon Tabasco sauce
3 pounds chicken wings, tips removed, separated into wings and drummies
Combine the cayenne pepper, salt, black pepper, Cajun seasoning, and onion flakes in a small bowl.
Combine the barbecue sauce, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, jalapeno sauce, and Tabasco in a bowl. Mix until blended.
Season the chicken wings with the spice mixture and place in the crock pot. Sprinkle any remaining spice mixture over the wings.
Pour the barbecue sauce mixture over the wings and stir gently to coat them in the sauce.
Cover the crock pot and cook on low heat for 4-6 hours or until the wings are cooked through.
Serve the wings with additional barbecue sauce for dipping, if desired.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

GREAT flavor on these wings and really easy. 4 hours on low in the crock gets them almost falling off the bone tender but not so as they are too messy to eat. will try the idea of broiling them at the end next time.

These are wonderfully spicy wings! I did one minor change, I put the wings under the broiler just before serving. You can brush the wings with the sauce while broiling as well. Loved these!
