ingredients
1 pound pecan halves
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon five-spice powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper
directions
Place pecans in crock pot. In a bowl combine the melted margarine or butter, soy sauce, five-spice powder, garlic powder, ginger and red pepper. Pour over nuts. Stir to coat nuts.
Cover; cook on low setting for 2 hours. Uncover and stir. Turn to high-heat setting. Cover and continue cooking on high for 15 to 30 minutes. Cool.

I've done seasoned pecans in the oven before but never in the crock pot. They turned out well. Will try other nuts next time or maybe a blend. The seasoning was delicious!

I've also done these with different and mixed nuts. Really tasty with cashews.
