Pizza night is always a favorite, especially when you have great tasting pizza from some of the most popular restaurants.

These smoked almonds are made in the oven, but the lovely flavor might convince you to get a smoker. The recipe is great as is, or you can add a little sugar and cinnamon for a sweet variation.
1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke
2 teaspoons water
1 1/2 cup shelled, unblanched almonds
2 teaspoons butter or margarine
1/2 teaspoon salt (more, if needed)
Mix together liquid smoke and water; pour over almonds and mix to cover all almonds. Place in shallow Pyrex pan, cover and let stand overnight.
Next day heat almonds in 300 degrees F oven. When they are warm add about 1 teaspoon butter. Toss to coat almonds, adding more butter if necessary.
Roast in oven 40 to 45 minutes, stirring frequently. Sprinkle with salt to taste. Cool and store in a covered container.

A can of cream of mushroom soup can be a real dinner saver. It works great in casseroles and can turn into a sauce or gravy in a pinch.
Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

I actually add a couple of pinches of sugar to this. Helps the flavor imho because liquid smoke can be a bit fake tasting on its own.
