This iconic whiskey is a "Jack of all trades" when it comes to cooking. Toss it in some pasta, as a savory dipping sauce, and even bake it into something sweet.

Candied almonds or cashews can add a terrific touch to salads, bringing some sweetness and crunchiness into the mix. Or, simply serve as a snack.
1 1/2 cup blanched whole almonds or cashews
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Generously grease the foil and set the baking sheet aside.
Combine the nuts, sugar, and butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook, stirring constantly, for 10 minutes or until the sugar has melted and has begun to caramelize. It should be golden brown.
Remove the pan from the heat and quickly stir the vanilla into the mixture. Spread the iced nuts on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Let cool completely and break into bite-sized pieces.
Store the nuts in an airtight container at room temperature.
