ingredients
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups milk, warmed
2 packages (10 ounce size) frozen pearl onion, thawed
1 package (10 ounce size) frozen tiny green peas, thawed
1/4 kosher salt
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
directions
Melt butter with thyme in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add flour and cook, whisking, for 2 minutes. Slowly add warm milk, whisking constantly and cook until mixture thickens and comes to a boil.
Reduce heat to low and simmer, whisking, for 3 minutes. Stir in onions, peas, salt and pepper, and cook until heated through, about 7 minutes.
