- #50397
Jicama, also known as yam bean, is a root vegetable that resembles a turnip. It's crisp and crunchy, with a slightly sweet flavor making it a great salad ingredient.
2-5 hrs
ingredients
1/2 pound jicama
1 tablespoon black or red rice vinegar
1 teaspoon sugar
1 pinch salt
1 small drizzle sesame oil
directions
Peel the jicama and coarsely shred it using a box grater. Place the jicama in a bowl and add the vinegar, sugar, salt, and sesame oil. Mix well.
Cover the bowl and let the jicama salad marinate at room temperature for 4 hours before serving.

This iconic whiskey is a "Jack of all trades" when it comes to cooking. Toss it in some pasta, as a savory dipping sauce, and even bake it into something sweet.
Not to be confused with evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk is very sweet (and very sticky) and used primarily in desserts.
