Slow Cooker Tomato And Rice Casserole

ingredients
4 teaspoons butter
1/2 cup uncooked rice
15 ounces canned tomatoes, undrained
2 teaspoons chopped parsley
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
4 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
chopped chives
directions
Saute the rice in the butter in a skillet until the rice is lightly browned. Place rice in crock pot. Pour the tomatoes and their liquid, parsley, salt and pepper into the crock pot and mix well.
Cover and cook on low for six to eight hours. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and chopped chives before serving.
