Beer makes batters better, meat more tender, and sauces more flavorful.

The best way to cook amazing food is to master the basics. Perfect brown rice is so versatile, whether for stir-fries, burrito bowls, or serving alongside grilled fish and veggies.

1 cup regular brown rice (not instant)
2 cups water
Combine the rice and water in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, uncovered.
Reduce the heat to a simmer, cover, and let simmer for 30 minutes or until the rice has absorbed all the liquid.
Turn off the heat and leave covered for 5 more minutes.
Remove the cover and fluff the rice with a fork. Serve immediately or chill to use in salads.

The brown rice I've made always requires 1/8 to 1/4 cup more water. So for 1 cup of brown rice 2 1/8 cups of water are required. I also boil the water with salt before adding the rice. Thank you
