Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

Add a little kick to your brown rice with a few simple extra ingredients.
1 can (12 ounce size) chopped tomatoes, keep the juice
1 cup uncooked brown rice
1 cup corn
1 1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 package taco seasoning mix
2 teaspoons fruit sugar
1 onion, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Add the water to a large pot and bring to a boil. Add all the ingredients, except the corn. Reduce to a simmer, cover and cook until water has been absorbed into rice. Stir in the corn.
Average cooking time is 60 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes and fluff with fork.

Love buffalo wings? Get that same hot, zippy flavor in everything from deviled eggs to enchiladas. And of course: wings.
Not to be confused with evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk is very sweet (and very sticky) and used primarily in desserts.

Made this today! I omitted the sugar & corn for dietary reasons, but it still came out delish! Definitely will be making this again. I love brown rice and this was tasty :-)

I used my own homemade seasoning blend instead of the packaged taco seasoning. The cooking time was perfect for the rice I used (follow the cooking time on the package for best results). It was really tasty and had a nice texture.
