ingredients
2 pounds lean beef cubes, cut in 1 inch pieces
10 ounces low salt beef broth
1/2 cup cranberry juice or red burgundy wine
2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
1 clove minced garlic
pepper, to taste
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup water
directions
Brown meat on all sides in heavy skillet or dutch oven. Add broth, cranberry juice or wine, soy sauce, garlic and onion powder. Heat to boiling and simmer 1 hour or until tender.
Blend cornstarch and water and stir into meat mixture. After gravy thickens boil 1 minute more.
