ingredients
5 cups water
1 whole pineapple, peeled and cut up into bite-sized pieces
2 ounces fresh ginger root, grated
1/2 cup brown sugar (or more to taste)
directions
In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Remove from heat. Add pineapple and ginger. Let steep for 8 hours.
Add sugar to taste. Strain, bottle and refrigerate. If you want some bubbles, add sparkling mineral water when serving.
