Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.
Chicken Paprika Noodle Casserole

ingredients
8 ounces egg noodles
1 small onion, chopped
1/4 cup butter
2 whole chickens, about 2 lbs. each, quartered
1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon paprika
2 cups chicken broth
2 tablespoons tomato sauce
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 cups sour cream
directions
Cook noodles until barely tender, drain and put in 5-qt casserole.
Saute onion in butter, remove onion. In same skillet, saute chicken a few pieces at a time until lightly browned. Add more butter if necessary. Arrange chicken on noodles.
Blend flour into drippings in skillet. Add salt, pepper and paprika. Cook, stir 1-2 minutes. Add broth and cook until slightly reduced and thickened. Remove from heat.
Add tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce and sour cream. Pour over chicken. Bake at 350 degrees F 1-1/2 hours.
