ingredients

2 pounds ground beef
2 medium onions, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (6 ounce size) sliced mushrooms, drained
2 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup beef broth
3 tablespoons tomato paste
1 1/2 cup sour cream
4 tablespoons all-purpose flour

directions

Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.

Add the onions, garlic, and mushrooms to the skillet. Cook, stirring frequently, until the onion is soft.

Transfer the beef mixture to a crock pot. Add the salt, pepper, beef broth, and tomato paste.

Cover the crock pot and cook on low heat for 3-4 hours or until heated through.

Combine the sour cream and flour and mix until smooth. Stir into the beef mixture. Cover the crock pot and cook for 15 minutes longer or until heated through.

Serve hot over cooked noodles or rice.

  1. Guest Foodie REVIEW:

Since you brown the ground beef you don't have to cook it as long. I cooked it for 4 hours and then served over egg noodles.

  2. Lori REVIEW:

This was really good! I added more mushrooms, some worcestershire sauce, and substituted ketchup for tomato paste since I didn't have that. Cooked it for 6 hours.
