Okra Shrimp Creole

ingredients
3 beef bouillon cubes
1 cup hot water
2 onions, diced
1/2 green bell pepper, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 bay leaf
1/8 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 cup margarine
2 tablespoons flour
10 ounces package frozen okra
8 ounces can tomato sauce
15 ounces can tomatoes
1 teaspoon Louisiana hot sauce
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1 pound shrimp, peeled
directions
Dissolve bouillon in hot water. Set aside.
Saute vegetables in butter and blend in flour, stirring until smooth. Gradually add bouillon. Add remaining ingredients except shrimp and simmer 35 minutes, covered.
Add shrimp and cook 15 minutes longer. DO NOT add salt! Serve over rice.

Delicious, easy, what more could you ask for! Only change was that I used 1 1/2 lbs shrimp and two cans tomato sauce because I felt it needed more liquid with the extra shrimp.

This was some of the best creole shrimp I think I've ever had! Really loved it!

We really enjoyed this recipe. My husband wasn't sure about the okra in this recipe, but it was good.
