4 pounds ground beef
3 teaspoons salt
3 teaspoons black pepper
4 tablespoons chili powder
3 cups ketchup
3 cups water
4 cans (6 ounce size) tomato paste
Crumble the ground beef into a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook , stirring constantly, until the meat is browned. Drain off excess grease.
Add the remaining ingredients to the skillet. Bring to a simmer. Let cook for 2 hours on a low simmer or until the sauce is thickened.
Spoon the sauce over hot dogs in buns.

I of course didn't make all 9 pints of this I used only a pound of ground beef and scaled everything else down proportionally. I think maybe using tomato sauce instead of the water/paste might give it better flavor. It tasted a little too tart with the tomato paste. Maybe a little sugar to balance it if you use tomato paste. Definitely adjust it to your liking. I'll try it again with some modifications.
