No more naked hot dogs! This beefy, chili-spiced sauce turns a frank from fair to fantastic, adding just the right balance of sweet, spicy and savory.
4 pounds lean ground beef
2 chopped onions, or to taste
2 envelopes Durkee or French Chili-O chili seasoning mix
20 ounces ketchup
1/4 cup sugar
2 quarts tomato juice
Heat Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and onion and cook, stirring frequently to break up the meat, until the beef is no longer pink. Drain off any excess grease.
Add the chili seasoning mix, ketchup, sugar, and tomato juice to the Dutch oven. Stir well then bring the mixture to a simmer. Let cook, stirring often, for 1 hour.
Serve over hot dogs in buns. Store leftovers in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat before serving.

Love buffalo wings? Get that same hot, zippy flavor in everything from deviled eggs to enchiladas. And of course: wings.
A can of cream of mushroom soup can be a real dinner saver. It works great in casseroles and can turn into a sauce or gravy in a pinch.

I have made this on several occasions. For potlucks at work, and at home. Everyone raves about this recipe. And request it at every dinner we have.
