Tia Maria Chocolate Sauce

ingredients
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa, preferably Dutch process
1 cup sugar
6 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup light corn syrup
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup Tia Maria liqueur
directions
In a large pan, mix cocoa, sugar and cornstarch. Add water and corn syrup and mix until smooth. Cook over medium heat until mixture boils.
Add chocolate and stir until melted. Reduce heat and cook 5 minutes more, stirring constantly. Add butter and stir until melted.
Remove from heat. Add Tia Maria and stir until blended. Let cool, then refrigerate.
This has a smooth, silky chocolate flavor.
