Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.
Slow Cooker Three-Pepper Sirloin

ingredients
2 pounds boneless sirloin steak
1 teaspoon garlic pepper
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
6 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup low-sodium beef broth
2 carrots, thinly sliced into strips
1 medium green bell pepper, sliced into strips (reserve 2 strips)
1 medium red bell pepper, sliced into strips (reserve 2 strips)
1 medium yellow or orange bell pepper, sliced into strips (reserve 2 strips)
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 onion, sliced
1/4 cup cashews
directions
Place sirloin in slow cooker and sprinkle with garlic pepper and red pepper flakes. Pour soy sauce and beef broth over steak. Add carrots, pepper strips (with the exception of reserved strips), garlic and onion.
Cook on Low for 6 to 8 hours. In the last 30 minutes of cooking time, add reserved pepper strips.
Remove steak and all of the peppers from slow cooker with slotted spoon and place on platter. Top with cashews and serve.
