1/4 teaspoon cumin
1 dried bay leaf, crumbled into tiny pieces
1/4 teaspoon crushed coriander seeds
1/4 cayenne pepper
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
2 porterhouse steaks (18-20 ounce size), each about 1" thick

Prepare a hot fire in a grill.

In a bowl, combine spices and salt, stirring to combine. Place steaks on a large plate, rub both sides evenly with oil, then rub steaks with chili mixture.

  1. kobber REVIEW:

I am very nervous of cooking steaks but this was so easy to follow. The meat was done just how I like it and the rub was fantastic. Thankyou. The best tip was the cooking time. Thankyou so much you gave me the confidence to try and succeed!
