2-5 hrs
ingredients
1 ham half with bone
1 bottle (2-liter size) ginger ale, divided
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1 cup brown sugar, divided
1/2 cup flour
directions
Boil ham for 15 minutes in a pot of water.
In a small bowl, mix dry mustard, flour, a splash of ginger ale, and enough water to make a thick paste. Remove ham from pot of water; place it in roasting pan.
Pat ham with brown sugar, enough to cover entire ham well; then pat with mustard paste mixture. Pat ham once again with brown sugar to cover well. Now push whole cloves into ham, as many as desired, but at least one every inch or two.
Pour an inch or so of ginger ale around the bottom of the ham (do not pour over ham). Bake at 350 degrees F, covered, for 3 hours, adding more ginger ale and basting every 30-40 minutes.
