ingredients
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup red and green cherries, chopped
1 cup walnuts or pecans, toasted, chopped
directions
Heat oven to 375 degrees F.
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add vanilla. Stir in flour and mix well. Add cherries and nuts and mix until blended.
Shape into 4 rolls measuring about 6" X 1-1/2". Wrap well in heavy plastic wrap, and refrigerate until firm.
When ready to bake, remove from fridge and cut into 1/4" slices. Bake on parchment lined cookie sheets for 10 minutes or until lightly golden.
