Quick and easy, this brandy sauce requires only a few ingredients to achieve a smooth texture. Ready in about 10 minutes, it pairs well with various desserts.

1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon butter
1 cup boiling water
1/4 cup brandy
Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt. Add butter and boiling water. Mix well and cook for 6 minutes or until clear. Add brandy after you remove saucepan from heat.
Serve warm over cake or pudding.
