ingredients
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup butter or margarine
1 1/4 cup sugar, divided
3 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup sour cream
2 teaspoons cinnamon, ground
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Mix flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
Beat 1 cup sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, and add vanilla until well blended. Beat in flour and sour cream alternately, beginning and ending with flour.
Combine the 1/4 cup sugar and the cinnamon. Spoon about 1/3 of the batter into a greased 9 by 5 inch loaf pan. Sprinkle with 1/3 of the cinnamon sugar mixture. Repeat twice more with both the dough and the cinnamon mixture, using all of the dough and the cinnamon mix.
Place pecans on top of loaf, pressing in gently with your fingers. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes or until done.
Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Remove and cool on wire rack.
