The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

ingredients
2 cups self-rising flour
2 tablespoons sugar
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup butter
sesame or poppy seeds
directions
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Melt butter in a 7" x 11" pan.
Mix flour, sugar and milk, keeping the dough as soft as possible. Let it "rest" for one minute. Knead gently on a floured cloth. Roll dough to size of pan.
Cut lengthwise in the center of the dough. Cut the dough crosswise at 3/4 inch intervals with a sharp, floured knife to make sticks approximately 3/4" x 3 1/2."
Roll in the melted butter, completely coating the sticks. Sprinkle sesame or poppy seeds on top.
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow to sit until excess butter is absorbed, usually a minute or so. Serve while hot!

they looked like it wasn't going to turn out right when I was making them, but they turned out great and tasted really good. Definitely not good for you though with all of that butter- but sure tasted great.
