Helen's Hamburger Patties In Mushroom Sauce

ingredients
MEAT PATTIES
3/4 pound lean ground beef
1/2 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
1 dash nutmeg
1 egg
SAUCE
1 can mushroom soup
water (to make preferred consistency)
mashed potatoes
directions
Soak the oatmeal in the milk about half an hour, then add egg to it and mix. Mix remaining meat ingredients and mix well.
Form into small flattened meat patties and brown them. Remove the patties from the pan and add the mushroom soup. Stir up any bits in the pan.
Add enough water, usually 1/2 can, to make the sauce to your desired consistency.
Put meat patties back in pan and simmer for half an hour. Serve with mashed potatoes and a veggie.
