Tex-Mex style tacos made with baked beans instead of refried

1 pound lean ground beef
1 envelope taco seasoning mix
28 ounces canned baked beans
12 taco shells
taco toppings, as desired such as shredded lettuce, diced tomato, cheese, sour cream, etc
Place the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook, stirring frequently, until the beef is browned. Drain off any excess grease.
Add the taco seasoning and baked beans to the skillet. Bring the mixture to a boil then reduce the heat to a simmer. Let simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5-8 minutes or until heated through.
Spoon the beef and bean mixture into taco shells. Top with your favorite taco toppings, as desired. Serve immediately.

Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.
