ingredients

4 cups flour
3 cups sugar
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1/4 teaspoon ginger
1 cup vegetable oil
1 pound canned pumpkin
2/3 cup cold water
4 eggs
1 cup chopped pecans

directions

Sift together dry ingredients. Make a well and add vegetable oil, pumpkin and cold water. Blend well and add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Fold in pecans.

Pour batter into a greased, floured loaf pans. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees F. Cool on a wire rack.

Add some green food color to softened cream cheese and serve as a topping for a ghoulish effect.
