It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).

Okay, technically you can make this bacon any time of day. But everything tastes better as a late night snack, and bacon isn't about to break that rule. Microwave bacon is surprisingly good when done right, and it's easy enough to make even in your laziest nocturnal state.

8 slices bacon
Place the bacon in a single layer between paper toweling on a microwave-safe plate. The bacon slices should not be touching.
Microwave on high for 6 minutes, turning the bacon over halfway through the cooking time if desired.
Let cool for one minute then eat or use in a recipe.
This seems totally basic - but you'd be amazed how many people don't know how to microwave bacon so it is cooked, but not overcooked!
This is a foolproof method. Adjust cooking time based on the power of your microwave though (if you have a really old one you'll need to cook it longer more than likely).

Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.
