This iconic whiskey is a "Jack of all trades" when it comes to cooking. Toss it in some pasta, as a savory dipping sauce, and even bake it into something sweet.

Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.
Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

just made homemade sauerkraut for the first time. This recipe made that kraut SING. My wife doesn't like kraut, but I made this recipe and served with smoked pork chops...outstanding!

I must first say I HATE sauerkraut. But we were having an Oktoberfest dinner and of course, needed kraut. This was an incredibly easy recipe and everyone at our party raved about it, including me! I'm now a convert. The apples give a sweetness to the sauerkraut and eliminates the usual bite.
