Pizza seasoning is a blend of dried herbs and spices specifically designed to enhance the flavor of pizza.
Sprinkle a generous amount evenly over your pizza sauce or dough before adding cheese and toppings. You can also mix it into the sauce for an infused flavor. Start with about a teaspoon per pizza, increasing as desired.
You can adjust the proportions to better suit your taste preferences. Feel free to add more of your favorites or reduce the quantity of those you don't enjoy as much.
You can substitute fresh herbs for dried, but the general rule is to use three times the amount of fresh herbs as they are less concentrated. Keep in mind that the flavor may vary. Fresh herbs can not be stored long term so you'll need to use the seasoning immediately.
Store pizza seasoning in an airtight container in a cool, dark place to maintain its flavor and potency, ideally for up to 6 months.
Yes, pizza seasoning can be used in various dishes beyond pizza, such as pasta sauces, marinades, grilled meats, roasted vegetables, or even in bread recipes.
You can customize the blend based on what you have on hand or what flavors you enjoy.
You can add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper if you prefer a spicier kick in your seasoning.
When stored properly in an airtight container away from light and heat, pizza seasoning can last up to 6 months, but for optimal flavor, use it within 3 months.
While it's not common to freeze-dry spices, you can freeze larger quantities in airtight, freezer-safe bags. However, flavor may diminish slightly upon thawing.

I omitted the ginger and fennel simply because I didn't have any on hand, but it tastes great. I also only put in about half the recommended pepper. (It didn't look very "coursely ground" to me, and I didn't want to put too much in.) Next time I'll try putting about 3/4 of the pepper in. Haven't tried it on actual pizza yet, but it tastes great on cheesy mashed potatoes!

I omitted the ginger and lemon peel and used it that way. They sounded like odd ingredients in a pizza seasoning so I didn't add them.

The pizza place near my house has the best pizza seasoning that they put out on the tables. I've asked for the recipe but they won't give it to me. This is almost exactly it! The difference is tiny and I'm still trying to figure it out but I'll be using this in the meantime.
Looks promising but the recipe doesn't say how much of the finished mix that you should use per pizza?!?
It's completely to taste. (think of it like keeping salt and pepper on the table for individuals to add as needed).
