1/2 cup dark raisins
1/2 cup chopped dates
1/2 cup vinegar
1 1/2 cup apple juice
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 cup spaghetti sauce mix (dry)
1 1/2 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon garlic salt
1 tablespoon dried minced onion
water, as needed
Combine the raisins, dates, and vinegar in a saucepan over medium heat. Cover the pan and bring to a strong simmer. Let cook for 10 minutes.
Remove the pan from the heat and let stand for 30 minutes.
Bring the apple juice and lemon juice to a boil in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the spaghetti sauce mix, chili powder, salt, garlic salt, and onion. Mix well.
Drain the raisins and dates and add to the apple juice mixture.
Transfer the ingredients to a blender and puree until smooth. Add water as needed to get the desired consistency. Adjust the flavoring as needed.
